While a number of them have been to cars others have been to our city parks. We have also had multiple burglaries from cars. The things stolen have varied from electronics to personal items. There is no pattern to these crimes and they are in all different parts of the city. One consistent variable to these incidents is that they are occurring at the local gyms. We all know it is easy to run into the gym and leave our purse/wallet in the car, but the criminals know that we do this. When we leave items such as purses in the car it creates an opportunity for the criminals to victimize us. PLEASE remember to take your valuables into the gym or into the house at night. DO NOT leave items in your car.
A problem we are seeing throughout the Tri-Valley…..several cases of businesses being burglarized during the night. The suspects are breaking in via windows or doors and taking the cash left in the cash drawers overnight. If you are a small business owner, try not to leave money in your business overnight.
I hope you all have a wonderful and happy 2008.
